State tries to quench Mekhong whisky thirst

The Mekhong brand of government-distilled whisky had become so popular that the government decided to award a private concession for production. The heavy demand in Bangkok alone had caused a shortage, and independent distillers were invited to submit tenders for production in provincial areas.
