Flyover and overpass open to unblock traffic

Bangkok’s first ‘flyover’ opened at Pratunam junction, allowing cars and motorcycles to cross over Phetchaburi Road and to avoid a notoriously congested intersection. Traffic police turned out to make sure traffic flowed smoothly as streams of cars and motorcycles made use of the new structure.

But a policeman at the scene pointed out that vehicles coming down the flyover did so at high speeds, heightening the risk of pedestrians being killed or injured.
