Green light for more international schools

The Education Ministry agreed in principle to allow more international schools to open to meet an increasing demand for education for children of expatriates working in Thailand.

All department heads under the Education Ministry unanimously supported the scrapping of a cabinet resolution that banned the opening of new international schools. There were only five in Thailand in 1990, four of which were in Bangkok and the other in Chiang Mai.
